Editing:
With Nitro PDF Professional you’re able to edit documents simply by using the Edit tool on the Insert and Edit tab, much like any word processor. Nitro PDF Professional provides some excellent tools that allow you to edit objects and links from the same tab. You can also add images, watermarks, or add, remove and replace pages from your current PDF.
Use the Combine Files dialog box to create a portfolio by merging PDFs and other files. From the same Insert and Edit tab, you can also insert images and Bates numbers (good for legal binders), attach different file types or manage bookmarks and links. For collaborating, you can add comments or sticky notes, and you can perform other markups then upload and share your documents for review on a network folder or a document management system like SharePoint. From the Secure and Sign tab, you can add security to your document using 128-bit password encryption or through adding digital signatures.
Multimedia:
Nitro PDF Pro allows you to create and fill out forms and add form controls. Creating forms however is a bit tricky as this software doesn’t have a form wizard like some of its competitors. But we found that if we created a form elsewhere or on this application, Nitro Pro does detect the fillable fields. But attempting to make an existing document a fillable form required more trial and error.
With regard to multimedia, we know that you can attach different file types to your document, but there is no mention of attaching video or audio files. There are also no menu items or support materials that address video or audio files. You can however add images, clip art and different types of links to your document, and there is an auto-link generating feature which will find web addresses in your text and make them clickable hyperlinks.
Printing:
In addition to basic printing, Nitro PDF Professional has advanced printing options that support color matching, embedded fonts and font subsets. There's also a Prepare function to optimize your document for the web or high-quality printing. The Save As function is limited to just the PDF file type. To get other output options, you can use the Convert file tool to convert your PDF to MS Word or Excel format, or to a text or image file.
Ease of Use:
Ease of use is the strength of Nitro PDF Professional. The menus and toolbars are easy to understand, and if your cursor hovers over them you get clear, concise descriptions. You can also use the Welcome screen’s interactive one-click panes to perform functions without ever using a menu or toolbar.
